I thought I read somewhere that women actually only lose 2-3 tablespoons of blood

The normal amount of blood lost during menstruation is about 2 to 8 tablespoons, although it may seem like more than that.

Really? Then what's all the complaining about? I've cut my finger and lost more than that...

I GIVE more blood than that for a blood test. It's not the bleeding so much as the hormone change, water weight gain, ankles swelling, blotting, bitching about cramps, just plain bitching, "Can't touch this" thingy. SEVEN DAYS of "did it stop yet?... did it stop yet?... did it stop yet?... did it stop yet?... did it stop yet?... did it stop yet?... did it stop yet?"

I think it's more the shedding of the uterine lining and cramping that is the problem.

I too have lost lots of blood on occasion, and have the scars to show for it. I'd rather have stitches than feel like I got kicked in the stomach for 3 or so days every month.

kiss-ass

I'd just rather find a couple of women who all don't migrate to the same cycle. What's up with that crap? Tell me that's not the ultimate conspiracy against men.

OK, progesterone cream for all of you! I love seeing where you guys take threads........

btw - men should take 1/2 pump of progesterone cream daily for good prostate health according to Dr. John Lee. Now that's a whole other subject.

For good prostrate health, men need to take the attitude "use it, lose it". As men get older, their testosterone levels begin to plummet and so goes the "drive". It is THAT which begins the aging process for men. There are no "natural" therapies or OTC creams and such for this issue. HOWEVER men, there IS an easily obtained prescription gel the can boost your "T" levels. The best seems to be Testim. Androgel is good but not as effective.
Progesterone does play a role in men however, it's the "T" levels that are more important and should be monitored.
