Yeah FDA will only find those extremes and many things are not regulated. Our grandparents ate eggs & bacon every morning and all the stuff we are told to avoid. Their average lifespan was shorter but who knows if it's what they ate or simply the medical availability

Take birth control for instance. (I'm talking FDA here). In July 2002 the Women's Health Initiative stopped a study on HRT (hormone replacement therapy) because they found that the incidence of death by heart attack, stroke, blood clots, etc were too overwhelming to use a drug to try and overcome a few hot flashes and sleepless nights. This was front page news for a week in every major newspaper in the US because the government NEVER stops these large studies. Too much money involved. Well, women all over America stopped using HRT because of this (and a good thing that was). What the FDA, in it's infinite wisdom, did not relate is that birth control pills have 4 TIMES the amount of the same drugs as HRT. And that they are being given to women younger which is even more dangerous.

The FDA also says that manufacturers of food can say things like NO TRANS FAT on the front of a label as long as it is under a certain percentage. Look on the back and you'll still see partially hydrogenated sunflower oil or something like it.

And we all know how the FDA feels about tanning beds.....

Do not trust the FDA with what you are putting in or on your body. They do not care about you and your health.
