Who is they?

It's not boring because water is good for you and soda is not. I am afraid to drink soda. And I am afraid for people who drink soda all day LOL

Yeah, but I think everything in moderation. I don't worry about 1 soda a week. My issue is ice tea....I love it but I am drinking water more and also green tea some. I just find water too boring to drink regular. When I am working, I drink 2 gallons a day because I am active and outside.

I drink a lot of my water by drinking the Arbonne tea iced. I love iced tea and this is herbal so no caffiene. I can drink it like that or just plain water and it all tastes good to me. You can also add lemon or some other fruit like strawberries to your water and it will taste yummy. Limes are another good one and so are melons.

Add cucumber to your water. It is very refreshing. I do drink a lot of water, I also drink soda and tea. I would just like to get to mainly water.

I agree with the moderation thing. I'm not a big fan of depriving myself of things. However theres a fine line in moderation and completely gorging yourself on things that might not be necessarily healthy for you. I never drink regular pop, usually just diet, I'm trying to cut back my caffiene for some health reasons, but I would rather enjoy a diet coke or iced tea 2-3 times per week rather than never and then I end up drinking 2-3x per day.

Eating sugar shoots our blood sugar levels up and triggers a spike in the hormone insulin, which is needed to prep our cells to absorb the sugar. If there are no other nutrients to sustain our blood sugar level, it crashes as quickly as it rises — and we crave another hit. This is how sugar addiction begins.

Artificial sweeteners confuse the brain. (Natural sugar has a right-handed helix coil and artificial sweeteners has a left.) the enzymes in your mouth begin a surge that prepare your cell receptors for an insulin surge, and when it doesn’t arrive your brain feels cheated. That’s why most diet sodas are loaded with caffeine.

Splenda is the trade name for sucralose, a synthetic compound stumbled upon in 1976 by scientists in Britain seeking a new pesticide formulation.

Aside from Splenda, the most popular artificial sweeteners are aspartame (and its cousin, neotame) Recent studies in Europe show that aspartame use can result in an accumulation of formaldehyde in the brain, which can damage your central nervous system and immune system and cause genetic trauma. The FDA admits this is true, but claims the amount is low enough in most that it shouldn’t raise concern. So don’t worry the FDA said Formaldehyde in your brain is ok.

Excellent info Kay, thanks for sharing. I just don't like the new information coming out on this stuff. And they seem to be putting artifical sweeteners in so much stuff these days, especially stuff that kids eat. Crazy stuff going on with our food.
