Benefit #1 - Changing out 52 lamps One shot is very expensive...try it during JASON for multiple beds. Changing out 12 at a time is cost effective.

Benefit #2 - Customers have fresh lamps always, on the place they always look at...their front.

If you currently change lamps at lets say 600 hours...(all of them.) What's the difference, you are still changing out the oldest lamps at the same time, not any longer....not less performance. If anything, better performing cuz you have fresh lamps everywhere they want to see the most color. Your back tans the easiest and is closest to the lamps...so they will still get even color. Just stronger results...happier customers....same money spent, but in installments, which means you can spend that money elsewhere.

Rather than spending $1000 on a lamp change, one shot for one bed. you are spending $240.

I take the bottom middle and toss them out.

If i change every 150 or even 200hours. 52 lamps at intervals of 12 lamps each time is 4 lamp changes. 4 x 200hours is 800hours on the bottom middle lamps when i toss them.

Same goes for my standup.

60lamps. I change 15 lamps at a time, front panel where the customer is facing has 0-150 hours, front sides have 150-300hours, back sides have 300-450 hours and back/door panel has 450-600hours. Once they reach 600hours i toss them.

You could also, (during JASON) take those 600hour lamps 160W lamps and put them in your base beds. I know they are 100W lamps...so they are under powered....no biggy....run them for another 400hours during JASON and save some money.

I don't do that, but it's an option most don't realize is available to them during hard times.
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh, got ya. Was wondering how the hell ya got 3 to 4 rotations out of a bed.

I already do that type in my stand-up, gonna try it out in the beds.

it takes an extra 15 minutes...but that's nothing when it comes to customer satisfaction.

My beds have hinged acrylics, so it makes lamp changes a sinch.

So curious. Say you take the top lamps out and put in the bottom. What do you do w/ the 2 extra's? 18 in top, 16 in bottom? Do you only put in 16 new in top or take thos 2 out and keep track they have so many hours? Seems like at some point you'd end up with alot of lamps w/ 1/2 life left.

I would leave the two outer lamps in place. Change 16 of the top at 200 and move them down. Then next time change all 18 on top and move 16 down and chuck the two with 400hrs.

Din
How do you keep track? Have you set up a good system?

Hmm, I might try this. doesn't seem like to much work, you'd be ordering 16 new lamps then 18 new lamps the next time. I have to relamp everything right now though. Do you do all beds like that or just upgrade beds?

With this cycle I am trying top dropping on my base and Level 3 beds, level 2 sunstorms don't make this possible really because of the different lengths of lamps used in there. I will probably do the base at 350 and the Level 3's at 200 hours changing the facials at 400. It will be really cost effective for me this way and there will always be new lamps in there.
