How many hours do you typically run your lamps for until you change them?
100w? 100w R? 160w R?

Well I am relamping this month. I expect to run my 100w lamps that are 1000hr for about 750-800hrs which are in my 42 lamp bed, my 100w that are 1200hr are my base beds and those will go about 1000hrs. My 160w should be 600-650hrs. I plan to replace the upgade beds a little earlier and the base beds a little later (just 30-50 hrs) than 80%. Really this is just my plan, I need to get a meter and I will check the output so those hours might or might not workout.

I don't go by hours, I use a meter, and when they hit about 20 - 25% drop off from new, bye bye!

curious, do you find the meters are more or less that 80% of hours on average?

meters are not too bad, I am going to get one from my disty. I order from a few disty but ITBG has them for $109 which is $50 cheaper than anywhere else.

run bed full session. Half way through session run the meter in the middle of the bed and find the strongest reading.
Write it down. That's your base number. Now, to see if the lamps have died at all, next time you meter the bed, do it the same way as the first time and compare the numbers. |

Not sure if you compare, but do you notice a 20% drop when the lamps get to 80% of hours? I know it can be diff each time but just wonder if lamps are general dead before the 80% or after? I'm getting a meter too, but just curious.
