We have print flyers in our tanning rooms and put business cards in the room for them to take home. Its exciting to make commission on their vacation to Mexico and sell them their tan at the same time!!

Do you do package deals? I didn't read enough yet to see what you would earn off a flight but book a deal tan free if the comm is enough.

I don't see why not. Rob knows more about this stuff than I do. I don't know how much profit you get off of a flight or a hotel. I bet a cruise package would probably be profitable enough to do that, though.

Seems I remember this concept was introduced back around the late 90's. Tanning salons offering travel services.

Yep. As I remember it was pretty big money to get in. you had a dedicated computer and set up in a corner to market the services. That was my first thought when I saw this.

This is small investment and sort of "self service" travel services. Rather than competing directly with the travel agency down the street, you are competing for the online business, the way I see it. Not a lot of money up front, might make some money. I've thrown away a lot more for less potential return.

I think the theory is, there is no loyalty. Do you know anyone that likes you well enough to do business with you rather than Orbitz?
