The commission rates on cruises can go up to 16%. But that is on a few selected cruise lines. So if you get a family of 4 going on a cruise, it possibly could be worth it. I would keep the 2 seperate myself. What I am going to do within my salon is offer a free small tanning package to eveyone who signs up for the deals and steals part of the site. This way I know that they have been on the site and seen how it works. I also now have an email database myself as well.
I am sure you know a few people in your salon that would rather buy from you than orbitz or any other online travel site. Then they will tell their friends the deals you had on your site and so forth and so on. It doesn't happen overnight. My wife and I had a "grand opening" party at our house about a month ago and unveiled the YTB travel site to some of our friends. Now they have family, friends and co-workers that they are telling about our site. It will and does work.

Are the prices based on the same as say orbitz? I compared the 2 and didn't see a price diff either way but that was only on 1 flight. Are you likely to see price diff or are you really marketing go through me because you know me and still get the same low price as somewhere else?

Most prices are very close. I have seen some that were better but it is not a discount travel site. Our prices are super competitive with all the other online sites.
We are competing with them with the people that we know and who our friends know. If you could make enough to make your car payment every month, or pay your gas card off every month, would it be worth it???
